The first cold evening, the windows open, something cinnamon in the oven and the very reasonable urge to turn the entire house into a witch's cottage. This little aura pumpkin would like to move in. It has brought its own rainbow and looks entirely too pleased with itself.
Violet, blue, green, a flicker of gold... all those colors slipping around a jack-o'-lantern grin. Like something that grew in the garden after you planted the wrong seeds under a full moon. A happy accident. Probably best to keep it.
Let it live among the fallen leaves and little gathered things, where the ordinary starts getting a bit enchanted. And when October leaves, well... nobody said the pumpkin had to.
